Ode To The Moon

Poems / Tuesday, June 12th, 2018

Oh Moon! Thy light doth drown the nether stars,

But the broken glass of my heart still glitters more,

At times resplendent, at times morose,

Oft gleeful and childish, sometimes mature

How ‘lunatic’ of you? I have no clue!

You change so often, so I can’t swear on you,

Oh Moon! Show me your dark side!

What do you have to hide?

Tell me your secrets,

You already know mine!

You are my anchor, my sweet lullaby,

Harbinger of good things that are to be,

A lover’s lament, a broken heart’s hope,

You are my other end of the rope!
