The thing about words is —
You don’t know which ones hurt,
Once said they can’t be taken back,
So — think before you blurt!

They pierce and tear the frail heart,
And gnaw the trusting — soul,
They just don’t take small bites —
But swallow it in — whole!

And strangely it’s not the words,
But more the person who said it,
Anger, fear, grief and joy — it,
Mirrors whatever you fed it!

Remember — words are powerful,
So, balm those wounds that bled!
Lest they forever haunt the mind,
Long after they are — said!
