Don’t Hold So Tightly!

Poems / Tuesday, June 12th, 2018

Dear — please don’t hold my world,
So tightly in your pretty fingers.
Your dainty nails dug in perfectly,
Into the bottoms of my throb-less heart.

But still – strangely — you look so endearing,
Smiling — with red smeared on the tips,
You wanted to slay me — and I —
And I — happily gave you the dagger!
